Dedoose is an easy-to-use, collaborative, web based application that facilitates all types of research data management and analysis. Here's what you need to know about how to use it.
Dedoose is a web-based application that allows you to organize and analyze research data, no matter what form those data take.
Whether your research data are qualitative—text, audio, images, or video, quantitative—spreadsheets, surveys, test scores, ratings or demographics—or a mixture of both, Dedoose’s design is flexible enough for you and your team to apply whatever methodologies you choose. Dedoose supports both qualitative approaches and mixed methods approaches to data interaction and analysis in a secure, collaborative environment.
At Dedoose, we’ve worked hard to make this application (App) intuitive to users. Dedoose is designed to make your life easier, your work more efficient, and your findings more transparent and meaningful, regardless of the size of your project.
Although Dedoose has many advanced features, you will be able to get up and running quickly just by reviewing the Quick Start Guide. There are also Video Guides to help you start building your database and carrying out your analysis as well as live customer support.
We encourage you to read Filtering & Analysis to make sure you get the most out of Dedoose by using Dedoose's interactive visualizations.
Why use the Dedoose Desktop App?
Dedoose is at its best when your internet connection is strong and your browser, version of Adobe Flash Player, and the system configuration are all in line. The Dedoose Desktop App is an alternative way to access Dedoose servers that circumvent the issues that can arise when using a browser to connect. In short, when the browser developers update their software, new issues can arise that can impact Dedoose connectivity and performance. Whenever such an issue comes to our attention, we'll address it as quickly as possible. With the Desktop App, we are in full control and whenever we do an update to Dedoose, we update the App so all transitions are as smooth as possible.
What devices can use the Dedoose Desktop App?
Currently, the Dedoose App will run on all Windows, and Apple, and some Linux machines. Note that Dedoose can also run through the Photon browser on iPads and Android tablets.
