A quick summary of the Demo Project included with every new Dedoose account

As we all know too well, data analysis cannot be done without the data! In this new blog series, we will be going over the process we followed to set up and analyze a project related to speeches from and related to the EU.

Here we discuss getting started from a shell in Dedoose, and how to approach creating, editing and using a code system. This includes creating descriptor fields and data, importing descriptor fields and data, submitting resources, linking resources and descriptors, building a tag tree and a whole lot more, brought to you by our very own Eli Lieber of UCLA.

The cloud, or cloud computing can be a confusing thing. We are not talking about the weather, but a place that information is stored and can be interacted with. The term ‘the cloud’ can be loosely thought of as the Internet. Information in the cloud is stored on servers belonging to and maintained by others—not directly on your local computer. If you have used Gmail or Yahoo to access your email, watched videos on YouTube, used Netflix, or paid a bill online, then you have used a web application that is operating in the cloud.

Our user community was abuzz with the key new features in Dedoose 7. After a tremendous amount of work, our awesome Tech Team has now added image based PDF and image importing, excerpting, and coding capabilities. To bring you the best of both worlds, you now have the option to importing PDFs as native image-based media or make use of the OCR technology to import the file as a document-based media.

Information about new features included in our most recent update, including changes to the Code Tree, new “Re-Parent” and “Make Root” code options, retroactive upcode, and a few security updates. Hope you enjoy!

We are thrilled about the recent release of Dedoose for the tablet.

After some serious head scratching, we’ve come up with and implemented what we feel is an elegant solution to exporting documents showing all excerpting activity and coding.

Our upgraded charting engine is powered by a fantastic algorithm that looks at the data used, breaks it up into categories based on the distribution of cases across the range of the variable, and then generates charts based on these groupings.

Hi All, It’s been a been few weeks and we’ve done quite a bit of updating lately.

For all those people working with teams in Dedoose, life just got a lot better!  We are proud to announce the project chat system.  

We just released the first public version of Dedoose 1.2 (1.2.18 technically) which has been in development for quite some time.  

After weeks of some very difficult work our engineering team has finished our first major upgrade to Dedoose!
