Here is a recorded sample of the Dedoose Introductory Webinars we host for free on a regular basis. Kurt Lautenbach, our support team leader, shares some Dedoose background and orientation before jumping into the app itself. After a peek at the main Account and Project Workspaces, we take a 'shallow' dive into Dedoose through building a project from scratch--importing media, creating codes, excerpting and tagging content, modifying the code tree, basic retrieval, and linking to descriptor data. At that point, we’ve found that most people new to Dedoose can grasp an understanding of how Dedoose can help in their work and get up and running. We then look at the Dedoose survey importer before jumping back into our demo project to explore the rest of what Dedoose has to offer. Items include the Security Center for controlling user access privileges, dealing with PDFs, images, video/audio, and other media, features to build and assess inter-rater reliability (IRR), quantitative analysis, memos, and a sampling of Dedoose analytic, visualization, and filter capabilities. Finally, we wrap up with some Q&A and an invitation to learn more.
