The Birth of EFI

The idea for EFI did not come from thin air. It was born out of genuine interactions and experiences with families and parents. One pivotal moment was when a lady participating in a round table expressed her frustration with traditional scales and instead urged them to simply listen to her subjective experience. This powerful moment sparked the idea to capture both the subjective and contextual aspects of family interactions.

Methodological Shift

To bring their vision to life, our founders pondered over methodology. They sought to capture the individual's perspective and the broader context of family interactions. This involved looking at the activities, settings, and relationships within the family unit. Dr. Weisner and Dr. Lieber recognized that many existing measures were individualistic, and thus EFI's approach stood out as more holistic and inclusive.
